Location: This is an outside event.

Activities:

-Forging a Hook and making a Brute De Forge style draw knife

-Beginning Hook class: $35 (1 hour, 12p-1p), 6 working seats, onlookers are welcomed.

-Intermediate Draw Knife: $110 (3 hours, 1:30-4:30pm), 4 working seats, onlookers are welcomed.

-There will be a 30-minute break between classes from 1-1:30pm.

-A beverage is included in your experience, and it will be provided by the winery.

You’ve seen “Forged in Fire!” You’ve been stalking Facebook groups for months, but now it’s time to give it a try. Whether you're a budding artisan or simply curious about this ancient craft, this course offers an immersive experience designed to ignite your passion for metalwork. During this engaging workshop, you'll be guided by skilled instructors who will introduce you to the essential techniques, tools, and safety practices required to create your own unique metal pieces. From shaping hot metal to honing your hammering skills, you'll gain a solid foundation in the art of blacksmithing.

Highlights:

Hands-On Experience: Get up close and personal with the forge as you learn to manipulate hot metal, shaping it into a functional and decorative object.

Tool Familiarity: Gain experience in working with a range of traditional blacksmithing tools, including hammers, tongs, chisels, and more.

Safety First: Learn crucial safety protocols for working in a forge environment, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for all participants. All students must wear long, cotton pants (jeans) and closed toe shoes.

Basic Techniques: Master fundamental blacksmithing techniques such as drawing out, tapering, scrolling, and punching, as you craft your own unique project.

Creative Expression: Discover the artistic potential of blacksmithing as you design and forge your own custom-made creations.

Guided Instruction: Benefit from personalized guidance and feedback from our experienced instructor, who is passionate about helping you develop your skills.

Small Class Sizes: Classes are limited to 4-6 people per class.
